Has there ever been one of those times where you are busy getting ready to go home and you think "hey, where is Nola"?
One evening Lacey was getting ready to go home and we were all in the kitchen and our little Nola was no where in the kitchen...
living room...
bathroom...
bedroom...
oh, she is coming in from the garage?
We look at her and it seems her pink and yellow ice cream hat is full of more things than just her head!
We are laughing so hard, trying to get a picture before she discovers that yes
we can see the outline of the toys in her hat, we are pretty sure there is more in there than meets the eye!!
Nola loads up in the car to go home to Mpls and we continue to be in awe of how smart she really is... hiding things she would like to take home with her from gramma and papa's house.
Nothing she has in there is more important than this moment -
this moment of seeing her go on with her life as if nothing is different -
nothing is in her hat that hasn't always been there!
Lacey calls me when they get home and informs me that Nola took her hat off and emptied the goods into her lap and then fell asleep for the rest of the drive.
What was in there one might ask?
Well, there were toys, some jewelry and the key for our radiators!
What a precious memory this is...
